This workshop is designed to bring your skills one step further, & really hone in on cultivating & developing even the most basic set of culinary skills.

Do you want to bring your kitchen skills to a whole new level in three days?

Option 1: Suitable for Teens & Adults

Date: March 29th – March 31st 2021

 

Time: 12pm – 1:30pm (time may vary 10-15 mins depending on dish)

 

Dishes:

  • Monday – Chicken fajitas with homemade dips & salad

  • Tuesday – Thai Green curry with Rice

  • Wednesday – Lasagne

 

 

Participants of this workshop will learn & develop skills such as:

  • Knife skills

  • Hob & Oven management

  • Recipe modification

  • Flavouring & seasoning

  • Healthy eating made easy

  • Nutritional awareness

  • Food Sustainability

  • Safe food practices

Option 2: Suitable for Children, Teens, Adults

 

Date: March 29th – March 31st 2021

 

Time: 2.30pm – 3.30pm (time may vary 10-15 mins depending on dish)

 

Dishes:

  • Monday – Scone based pizza  (pizza wrap demo)

  • Tuesday – Homemade scones & Sugar free jam

  • Wednesday – Chicken goujons & Spicy Wedges

 

 

Participants of this workshop will learn & develop skills such as:

  • Knife skills

  • Measuring & weighing out

  • Baking methods & skills

  • pizza making from scratch

  • Recipe modification

  • Hob & Oven management

  • Safe food practices 

  • Nutritional awareness

Option 3: Combined bundle 

 

Date: March 29th – March 31st 2021

 

Time: 12pm – 3.30pm (time may vary 10-15 mins depending on dish)

              Break: 1.30-2.30pm

Dishes: (12pm-1.30pm)

  • Monday – Chicken fajitas with homemade dips & salad

Upon booking you will be sent modifications & dietary alternatives for each recipe.

  • Children aged 8-12 (with a reasonable amount of skill already & under adult supervision)

This 3-day online workshop focuses on healthy eating whilst learning how to enjoy a healthy balanced diet through the dishes we prepare.  The workshop is not only educational, but also great fun for all, with two options to choose from so nobody is left out!

About Colette 

Hey there, I’m Colette!  I am a Registered nutritional therapist & Home Economics teacher.  Since 2008 I have been teaching children & teens how to cook, and have fun in the kitchen – in my classroom & my own cookery workshops!  However, a few years ago, I took a break from my cookery workshops to return to the classroom (this time as the student), to study and train as a nutritional therapist, and so, after all these years I am finally back...Bigger! Better! and through a whole new medium!

​

Years of classroom experience & clinical practice has shown me the importance & need for bringing these workshops back!  Culinary skills are one of the most valuable life skills anyone could ever learn.  It’s a known fact that learning how to cook from a young age (or later on for that matter) encourages smart, healthier food choices throughout life.  It allows us to develop an understanding of foods & flavours, whilst also gaining an insight into the nutritional benefits of so many foods too.  It’s an invaluable skill – one that allows us to take charge of, and prioritise our health!  Not only that, but cooking brings us closer to others – it allows us to share & experience together, sharing food has always been a social event & something that allows us to create so many wonderful memories together.

​

The idea of having only a few ingredients & being able to create something wonderful for others to enjoy is something that will never depreciate for me.  Whether it be a big pot of hearty stew, or a freshly baked batch of scones, the joy, the happiness & that ‘mmm’ sound you hear from family or friends will never tire.  I have always had a love for cooking & baking (I’m definitely more of a baker though) & a firm believer that life is all about balance!  So, now its my turn to share some of that with you & hopefully help you experience the same joy & passion whilst in the kitchen.

F.A.Q.

  • What if I can’t use some of the ingredients listed?

    • Upon registration you will receive a list of alternative options & modifications for each recipe

  • Do children & teens need to be supervised?

    • Parental supervision is advised for anyone under the age of 16y/o

​​

  • What if I don’t have some of the equipment listed?

    • Don’t panic & don’t feel you need to go and purchase a new kitchen to participate.  Chances are you have other suitable equipment. Alternatively, you could borrow some equipment from family or neighbours if you are really limited.

​​

  • Will we do everything online during the classes?

    • No.  You will be sent a list of specific instructions for each recipe.  Certain dishes will require more prep than others e.g. weighing of ingredients, unit/workstation set up etc.

​​

  • What if I can’t keep up?

    • Don’t worry! Work with your abilities.  The aim of this workshop is to help develop your culinary skills whilst also being safe in the kitchen – so please don’t feel obliged to rush! Follow as best as you can, and, if you need help team up with someone at home.  I highly recommend a parent accompany children & teens through the workshop.

  • Will I be sent a recording of each cook-along?

    • Each participant will receive access to the recordings from their selected option/s

  • The workshop seems to be aimed at children & teens.  I’m an adult can I still sign up?

    • YES! This workshop has been designed to suit those with basic kitchen skills & those who are looking to improve or develop their kitchen skills – no matter what age you are.  Over the years I have come to find culinary skills have held back healthy food choices for my clients, this is the perfect opportunity to change that!
